Imagine a world where everyone is connected and are protected from suicide. This is what R U OK? are working to create. Last week I spoke with Anastasia from the R U OK? team. R U OK? is an Aussie suicide prevention charity inspiring people to meaningfully connect and support those struggling with life. As Anastasia shares, simply asking someone, “Are you OK?” and then starting the conversation could change someone’s life. She shares the steps you can take to show someone you care, that they are not alone and that help is available. We also talk about how to notice if someone needs you to reach out to them, and even what to do when you ask someone if they are OK and they don’t want to talk about it. This is a very important episode and provides you with the strategies you need to be there for your loved ones, friends and even strangers when they need you the most.

How many times have you been told that money can't buy you happiness? If you are anything like me, it happened all the time when you were growing up. And, you are probably still being told the same thing now. However, recent research now proves that wrong. Money can, and does, buy happiness. The good news is that it isn’t about how much money you have, which means that you don’t need to be wealthy to experience the boost in happiness that money can create. You see, what researchers have found, is that it is all about the way you spend your money that makes the difference. So before you go spending your extra cash on that fancy new outfit or the new phone, you might want to use that hard earned money to buy you some happiness by spending it in one of these next 3 ways.

What’s your dream goal? Have you started working towards making it a reality, or is it still only in the dream stage because it seems too difficult? Last weekend, I turned one of my long-term dreams into a reality by finishing my first marathon. The training and race day were perfect opportunities for me to use many of the strategies we’ve shared on this podcast and to test them out in a fairly extreme situation, well extreme for me anyway! Maybe your dream isn’t to run a marathon, instead it might be to get a promotion, start a business, get that job, be accepted into your degree or something else. You have what it takes to do hard things by turning those dreams into goals and then into reality. You just need to take the right steps - physically and mentally. In this solo round, I share with you the strategies you can use to turn your dreams into a reality.
