When your relationships are strong and healthy, you are also stronger and healthier. This is one area of my life I am constantly working on. We tend to spend so much time giving our attention and energy to everything else because we are too busy, stressed, overwhelmed or distracted, that our relationships with friends and family are often overlooked. However, it is in these times that we need our relationships and sense of connectedness even more. With Christmas and New Years upon us, it is even more important that we invest in our connectedness given the spike in people struggling with mental health during this time of year. For this mash up episode, we will focus on the habits I learned and the inspiration I gained from some of most popular guests such as Dr John Barletta, Mat Rogers, Dr Gary Chapman and Ryan Hassan.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could remove old, unhelpful information from your brain? Well, you can because your brain has it’s very own delete button. For example, have you ever had that feeling after a big day that your brain is full and you can’t handle any more information. Well, that’s probably because your brain is actually full. And, using your delete button will help you retain and strengthen the important information while cleaning out what ever is unhelpful. The big question then is, how do you make sure your brain declutters itself thoroughly and properly. After all, you want to make sure it gets rid of the information you don’t need while keeping and strengthening every thing that is still important. In this solo round, I’ll share with you the two simple things you can do to effectively use your delete button.

How is your breathing going today? Have you taken a moment or two to notice or to control it? That age old saying of “take a deep breath”, now has scientific research to back up it up it's claimed benefits. New researching using recordings made directly from within the brain of people undergoing neurosurgery have shown that breathing can in fact change the brain. In other words, changing the way you breath, such as breathing slower and paying closer attention to your breath, engages different parts of the brain. In doing so, it can change the state of your brain and physiology to help you do your life even better.
